This position may be filled remotely in any city with a Husch Blackwell office, or in any of our locations in a hybrid capacity.

The Business Development Coordinator will work closely with Business Development Manager, Business Development Specialist, colleagues in the Business Development, Marketing, and Communications (BDMC) department, and Technology, Manufacturing, & Transportation (TMT) SBU leadership to drive marketing and business development projects and initiatives for the SBU. Essential functions include:

  • Develop and maintain a working understanding of assigned practice and industry groups, including attorneys, clients, experience, priorities, and market capabilities. 
  • Work collaboratively across BDMC functions and other business professional teams to complete projects consistently and on time, leveraging knowledge of departmental roles, resources, and processes to facilitate efficient project execution.  
  • Coordinate timelines, inputs, approvals, and follow-up for business development and marketing projects; proactively communicate status and updates. 
  • Assemble and proofread first drafts of pitches, presentations, attorney biographies, experience materials, and information sheets using approved content and templates, ensuring accuracy, clarity, consistency and brand compliance. 
  • Maintain accurate and current information in business development systems, including proposal and pitch records, representative experience, case studies, contact lists, budget requests, and ROI data. 
  • Develop proficiency with the firm’s mailing list systems and support targeted outreach efforts through the creation and quality review of invitation and mailing lists.  
  • Assist in managing attorney involvement in professional, trade, and industry organizations, and identify related business development opportunities. 
  • Coordinate logistics and deliverables for sponsorships, conferences, speaking engagements, and industry organizations, including materials, deadlines, shipping, public relations, social media, and tracking ROI. 
  • Fulfill defined business intelligence requests by coordinating with research resources and organizing results in a clear, useful format.  
  • Assist with internal and external profile-raising efforts by helping promote attorney, practice, industry, and client successes, activities, and achievements. 
  • Support tracking and reporting of activities, outcomes, budgets, and follow-up items for assigned initiatives.  
  • Assist with planning and executing TMT SBU events and webinars.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the TMT SBU and firm-wide business development efforts.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field or commensurate professional and educational experience. 
    • 2+ years of relevant experience preferably in a law firm or other professional services environment. Excellent proofreading, written communication, organization, and attention to detail. 
    • Ability to respond promptly and professionally to requests and proactively communicate challenges or delays. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and online research; experience with CRM and experience-management systems is a plus. 
    • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, follow established processes, and escalate issues appropriately. 
    • Demonstrated ability to incorporate feedback, preferences, and lessons learned into future work, resulting in improved quality, consistency, and efficiency over time 
    • Professional judgment, responsiveness, discretion, adaptability, and a strong service orientation.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

    • State of California: $52,000 - $106,000
    • State of Colorado: $48,000 - $85,000
    • State of Connecticut: $41,000 - $105,000
    • State of Illinois: $47,000 - $91,000
    • State of Maine: $35,000 - $82,000
    • State of Maryland: $50,000 - $76,000
    • State of Massachusetts: $52,000 - $99,000
    • State of Minnesota: $52,000 - $86,000
    • Jersey City, NJ: $57,000 - $102,000
    • State of New York: $48,000 - $105,000
    • State of Vermont: $51,000 - $99,000
    • State of Virginia: $34,000 - $99,000
    • State of Washington: $50,000 - $96,000
    • Washington, D.C.: $67,000 - $99,000

    The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
