Lead the evolution of Assured’s design system, defining shared patterns, standards, tools, and infrastructure across Design, Product, Brand, and Engineering. Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance. Claims processing (i.e. should we pay this claim?), while often overlooked, is the foundation of the entire industry. It’s currently highly manual, involving phone calls, faxes, and gut instinct, costing tens of billions of dollars a year. We can do better.

At Assured, we provide large insurers with the software solutions they need to win in a modern, technology-driven world. From self-service claim-filing software to backend fraud detection, we’re the engine that powers claims processing for some of the largest insurers in the world.

The challenges we face are deep and diverse, from creating digital experiences that provide comfort and clarity to claimants at their most stressed and vulnerable to orchestrating large-scale ML-driven decision-making on billions of dollars of claims payments, life at Assured is dynamic, collaborative, and rewarding.

We’re looking for a strong design leader with an incredible attention to craft to help shape how we design and build products at Assured. You’ll create the systems, standards, and tools that give teams across Design, Product, and Engineering a strong foundation to bring ideas to life and build incredible experiences.

You’ll own the future of our design system, but the opportunity goes well beyond components and libraries. You’ll help define the shared patterns, principles, tools, and infrastructure that allow us to raise the quality of our work while moving faster as we grow.

We’re also excited about what design enablement can look like in an AI-oriented world. There’s a big opportunity to rethink our tooling and workflows so teams can move faster, reduce repetitive work, and empower more people across Assured to build high-quality experiences.

🎯 What you’ll do
  • Own and evolve our design system, bringing today’s fragmented systems and patterns into a strong, shared foundation.

  • Define the patterns and standards that help Assured experiences feel thoughtful, cohesive, and well crafted.

  • Partner across Brand, Product, and Engineering to connect our expression with how our products actually work and are built.

  • Create tools and ways of working that enable others, making it easier for teams across Assured to build great experiences at scale.

  • Explore how AI and new tooling can help us design, build, and iterate faster.

  • Raise the bar for craft, consistency, and accessibility across our products.

🧠 What we’re looking for
  • Strong product design experience, including meaningful work on design systems, platform experiences, or shared product foundations.

  • Exceptional attention to craft, with strong interaction and visual design skills.

  • A systems thinker who can turn complexity into clear, scalable solutions.

  • Experience working deeply with Engineering and enough technical fluency to understand how design systems become real, scalable product infrastructure.

  • Ability to partner across Brand and Product, connecting expressive brand thinking with functional needs.

  • A natural leader who can create clarity, alignment, and momentum without needing a lot of structure.

  • Practical and hands-on. You can think long-term while knowing when to simplify, make progress, and get things shipped.

  • Curiosity about AI and the future of how teams design and build products.

✨ You might be a great fit if...

You’re excited by more than maintaining a component library. You want to help define how a growing product organization builds great experiences, from the foundations and systems underneath them to the craft people see and feel.

You enjoy bringing order to ambiguity, working across disciplines, and making things real. You’re equally comfortable setting a direction and rolling up your sleeves to build it, and you get energy from enabling others to do their best work.
