Consulting is a dynamic business focused on solving problems for our clients and serving our core markets through innovative solutions. As technology and AI continue to reshape the consulting landscape, we are looking for individuals who are curious, adaptable, and eager to learn. At Crowe, consultants are expected to build both technical and transferable skills, think critically, and use technology to solve real business problems. In this role, you will continuously learn, collaborate across teams, and explore how tools, including emerging AI capabilities, can improve efficiency, insights, and client outcomes.

As you grow, you’ll also begin to take ownership of client relationships, contribute to account strategy, and support the delivery of high-impact work. Developing a sense of account leadership, including understanding client needs, ensuring delivery excellence, and building trusted partnerships, is part of what sets successful consultants apart.

Success in this role comes from a growth mindset, strong communication skills, advanced critical thinking, and the ability to navigate new challenges with confidence.

As a Senior Digital Forensics Consultant in our Digital Forensics practice, you will lead and perform complex digital forensic investigations, oversee evidence collection and preservation activities, and analyze electronic data in a forensically sound manner. This role requires strong technical expertise, independent judgment, and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly to internal teams, legal counsel, and clients through formal reports, presentations, and strategic discussions.

The Senior Digital Forensics Consultant is expected to manage client engagements from initiation through completion, mentor junior team members, ensure adherence to forensic standards and internal policies, and contribute to practice development initiatives. This position combines hands-on forensic analysis, client-facing responsibilities, project leadership, and continuous professional growth to deliver high-quality investigative outcomes in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead evidence intake, tracking, management, preservation, and evidence return while maintaining strict chain of custody procedures
  • Conduct advanced forensic examinations on computers, mobile devices, tablets, cloud platforms, email systems, and storage media to identify, collect, preserve, and analyze digital evidence
  • Utilize industry-standard forensic tools and methodologies to recover, process, and analyze digital artifacts including deleted files, internet activity, communications, logs, and cloud-based evidence
  • Prepare, review, and present detailed forensic reports, findings, and presentations for clients, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for engagement teams and clients throughout investigative matters
  • Manage multiple concurrent engagements while ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations are met
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior consultants and assist in training and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Ensure forensic processes comply with legal, regulatory, and industry standards
  • Identify investigative risks, technical issues, and escalation items while proactively recommending solutions
  • Support business development efforts, client relationship management, and practice growth initiatives as needed
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, forensic tools, threat trends, and investigative methodologies
  • Complete and maintain required annual training, certifications, and continuing professional education

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, or related technical field required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the digital forensics field
  • Experience conducting forensic collections and examinations across computers, mobile devices, and cloud-based platforms
  • Strong understanding of forensic principles, evidence handling, and chain of custody procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and process-driven
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and changing priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Professional demeanor, client-service mindset, and ability to collaborate effectively within teams
  • Experience following and maintaining forensically sound investigative processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience providing digital forensics services to law firms, corporate legal departments, consulting firms, or government agencies
  • Prior experience working in a consulting firm
  • One or more industry-recognized forensic certifications such as:
    • Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE)
    • GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE)
    • EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE)
    • AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE)
    • Certified Computer Examiner (CCE)
    • ISACA, (ISC)², GIAC, or EC-Council related certifications
  • Experience leading forensic investigations or supervising engagement teams
  • Knowledge of computer networking, cloud environments, data security, and computer hardware
  • Experience with scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms, incident response methodologies, and litigation support workflows
  • Experience testifying or supporting expert witness activities is a plus
