About the Job

The Director / VP of Communications will own zerohash’s earned media and corporate narrative at a pivotal stage of growth. This leader will define how zerohash is understood by financial media, fintech and crypto press, partners, regulators, and employees, and ensure the company is consistently positioned at the center of institutional digital asset adoption.

This is a senior (10-12+ years of experience), hands-on role reporting to the CMO and working in close partnership with the CEO and executive team. The role requires both executive polish and startup intensity: the ability to advise the CEO ahead of a national interview and personally pitch reporters that same afternoon.

The ideal candidate brings deep relationships across top-tier business and financial outlets (Bloomberg, CNBC, WSJ, FT, Reuters) and strong fluency in fintech and crypto media. They understand how to navigate complex regulatory and infrastructure narratives and how to translate them into compelling, tangible stories that break through.

Importantly, this individual must be agile in shaping narrative by audience. They should be equally comfortable framing a macro infrastructure story for The Wall Street Journal or CNBC as they are positioning a technical product angle for crypto-native or fintech publications. They know how to adjust tone, depth, and emphasis depending on who is listening.

This role is designed for a high-caliber operator who has led communications at scale, ideally at a fast-growing fintech, payments, infrastructure, or crypto company, and is ready to apply that experience in a high-impact environment. We are looking for someone who has seen what excellence looks like at a leading platform and can build toward that standard here.

The right candidate combines executive-level polish and credibility with a scrappy, creative instinct for angles, timing, and momentum.

Why This Role Exists

zerohash sits at the intersection of stablecoins, tokenization, and institutional crypto infrastructure. As adoption accelerates, strengthening top of funnel awareness and thought leadership becomes more and more critical. This role exists to:

  • Increase zerohash’s presence in top-tier financial and fintech media
  • Elevate the deep subject matter expertise and thought leadership of the company’s executive and operating team
  • Convert complex infrastructure topics into clear, differentiated, and newsworthy stories
  • Ensure communications scales alongside the company’s institutional growth
Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute zerohash’s earned media strategy across financial/business, fintech, crypto, and technology publications
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team
  • Adapt messaging and storytelling based on audience, outlet, and market context
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key reporters, editors, and producers
  • Drive proactive pitching tied to product launches, partnerships, data reports, and major market moments
  • Secure executive interviews, thought leadership placements, speaking opportunities, and awards
  • Shape and refine the corporate narrative across announcements and partner communications
  • Partner closely with CMO, Product, and Relationship Management on joint announcements and positioning
  • Leverage proprietary data and market insights to create differentiated story angles
  • Oversee internal communications alignment as needed
Requirements
  • Significant experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or crypto communications (10-12+ years minimum)
  • Established relationships across major business and financial media
  • Direct experience advising CEOs and senior executives
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex technical and regulatory topics into accessible narratives
  • Strong data fluency: comfortable anchoring stories in metrics and research
  • Ability to tailor messaging across institutional, technical, and industry audiences
  • Executive presence and professionalism suitable for institutional stakeholders
  • Scrappy, creative operator who can both set strategy and execute independently
What Success Looks Like
  • zerohash is consistently included in top-tier financial and fintech coverage tied to major industry developments and infrastructure conversations.
  • The CEO and executive team are recognized as trusted infrastructure voices, with messaging calibrated appropriately across mainstream and industry-specific outlets.
  • The company’s narrative is clear, differentiated, and data-backed, reinforcing institutional credibility at every stage of growth.
Benefits
  • Healthcare Insurance: zerohash covers roughly 100% of employee premiums as well as a portion of spouse/children (U.S. only)
  • Vision & Dental Insurance (U.S. only)
  • Chance to earn equity
  • Maternity & Paternity leave (after 6 months)
  • WeWork All Access Membership
  • WFH Yearly Stipend
  • L&D Yearly Stipend (after 6 months)
About zerohash

zerohash is the leading crypto and stablecoin infrastructure platform and the operating system for digital money, powering the next generation of financial services. Founded in 2017, zerohash enables banks, brokerages, fintechs, and payment companies to offer crypto trading, stablecoin payments, and tokenized assets without having to build or manage complex blockchain infrastructure on their own.
The zerohash platform supports three core pillars: Trade, Transact, and Tokenize. Through a single integration, customers can launch regulated crypto buy, sell, and custody services; enable 24/7 stablecoin-based funding, payouts, and settlement; and issue and manage tokenized assets with built-in compliance, risk controls, and reporting. By abstracting away technical, regulatory, and operational complexity, zerohash allows partners to treat digital assets as just another financial primitive: fast, programmable, and global.
zerohash is trusted by some of the world’s most recognized financial and consumer brands, including Interactive Brokers, Morgan Stanley, Stripe, Franklin Templeton, BlackRock, DraftKings, Gusto, Worldpay, Kalshi, One Pay, among others. Today, zerohash infrastructure supports millions of end users across brokerage, wealth, payments, and marketplace platforms globally.
The company is deeply regulated and compliance-first, operating across the U.S. and internationally with licenses and approvals that allow partners to enter crypto and stablecoins with confidence. zerohash has become a trusted partner for enterprises seeking to modernize financial products while meeting the highest standards for security, risk management, and regulatory oversight.
To date, zerohash has raised over $280 million in funding from a mix of leading venture firms and strategic investors, including Morgan Stanley, Interactive Brokers, SoFi, Point72 Ventures, Bain Capital Crypto, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and more.
zerohash has been featured in top-tier media outlets such as Bloomberg, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Reuters, Forbes, and CoinDesk, and its leadership team regularly contributes to global conversations on the future of payments, investing, and financial infrastructure.
At zerohash, we're building the infrastructure that makes digital money work securely, compliantly, and at global scale.

The zerohash Culture

All zerohash employees are guided by the following characteristics and core principles:

  • Independence/Ownership - An ability to work autonomously. Join zerohash, pitch ideas, and shape the work you do.
  • Passion - We are innovating quickly and challenging the status quo. We want you to think big, be creative and make a difference every day.
  • Collaborative - A good attitude and respect for others. We’re teammates, not co-workers. Everything we do is a shared success and equally a shared failure - we talk in terms of “we” not “me”.
  • Initiative - An ability and passion for learning and asking questions. We will champion you, challenge you and push you to achieve your best - and we expect you to do the same.
  • Empathy - An ability to listen, respect, and understand your co-workers, customers, and everyone you interact with no matter how different they are to you.
  • Adaptability - An ability to respond quickly. We are in a fast-paced industry and so we expect you to be creative when solving a new problem and comfortable under pressure.
  • Transparency - We believe that transparency is critical to empowering everyone to make the best decisions, both the company to its people and vice versa.
  • Integrity - Integrity creates trust. As both an organization collectively and as individuals, it is our most valuable asset.
