This is a remote position.

Enable seamless integration across telecom systems, digital channels, and cloud/AI platforms as part of a large-scale enterprise integration initiative.

Organization: Confidential client in the telecommunications industry; the name will be shared with shortlisted candidates before the client interview unless the client has explicitly requested continued confidentiality

Location: Remote — open to candidates in the MENA region (and other time zones compatible with client collaboration hours)

Role Type: Full-time | Consultant-contractor | Fixed term (12–18 months), start in 2–3 weeks

Reports to: Client integration/technical lead (team to be confirmed)

The opportunity

Our client is looking for an Enterprise Integration Engineer to configure, build, and maintain integration workflows connecting core telecom systems, digital channels, cloud services, and AI platforms. In this role, you will design and implement APIs and service orchestration using Oracle Service Bus (OSB), Apigee, and 3Scale, collaborate with platform and application teams, and help deliver a reliable, secure, and scalable integration layer that supports the business across OSS, BSS, CRM, and third-party systems.

About the organization

Our client is an established organization in the telecommunications sector, serving enterprise and consumer telecom customers. The client name will be shared with shortlisted candidates before the client interview unless the client has explicitly required continued confidentiality. The integration team is currently focused on modernizing and consolidating its enterprise integration platform to connect OSS/BSS, digital channels, cloud services, and AI platforms.

What you will do
  • Own the configuration and maintenance of enterprise integration workflows, microservices, and APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) from design through deployment.
  • Deliver stable, well-documented integrations to the quality and reliability standards required for production telecom systems.
  • Integrate core telecom systems (OSS, BSS, CRM) with third-party applications and cloud services.
  • Partner with platform, application, and infrastructure teams to achieve seamless, secure system connectivity.
  • Implement service orchestration, message routing, data transformation, and API security using Oracle OSB, Apigee, and 3Scale.
  • Manage messaging systems, API Gateways, and Developer Portals to support reliable, scalable integration delivery.
  • Identify and address integration bottlenecks, performance risks, and security gaps.
  • Communicate progress, priorities, and trade-offs clearly to technical leads and stakeholders.
What you bring
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in enterprise application integration and API development, shown through hands-on delivery of production integration workflows.
  • Proficiency in Java or Python.
  • Hands-on experience with ESB and API Gateway platforms — Oracle Service Bus (OSB), Apigee, or 3Scale.
  • Practical experience with messaging brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or JMS) and SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL).
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively across distributed, cross-functional teams.
Helpful, but not essential
  • Exposure to telecommunications OSS/BSS environments specifically.
  • Experience in enterprise or large-scale distributed-team environments.
  • Familiarity with AI platform integration or cloud-native service architectures.
How the engagement works

Contracting party: You will contract directly with Apricot, which will manage contracting, invoicing/payroll, payments, and administrative support.

Day to day, you will work with the client's integration/platform team and report to the client's technical lead. Your work will be based on the agreed scope and deliverables for the 12–18 month engagement. You are expected to provide your own laptop and basic equipment, maintain reliable connectivity and a secure working environment, and follow required security controls, including two-factor authentication. Any client-provided specialized equipment, leave, stipend, wellbeing benefit, or other support will be stated separately as an approved exception. Planned check-ins are in month 1 and month 3 to see how the engagement is working and help address any issues.
