Why work at Concerto? What is in it for you?

Help build and shape Concerto’s growing data engineering function while strengthening an in-house enterprise data platform that supports clinical, financial, payroll, and operational decision-making. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on technical leadership with team development and cross-functional partnership.

Who Are We?

Concerto Renal Services is an industry leader in sub-acute hemodialysis within a skilled nursing facility and/or long-term care facility. We are a rapidly expanding business with a simple mission: reimagining dialysis care, one community at a time. Our model focuses on ensuring those with end-stage renal disease receive the best possible care through a more convenient, centralized, continuous care model.

Why is this Role Essential?

The Manager of Data Engineering is responsible for the design, development, reliability, and ongoing management of Concerto’s enterprise data warehouse and data integration processes.

As Concerto continues to strengthen its recently transitioned in-house data warehouse, this leader will expand platform capabilities, establish scalable data practices, and build a team to support the function long term.

This role oversees how data is collected, organized, secured, and delivered across the organization, ensuring leaders have reliable data to support patient care and business operations.

What Will You Do?

•  Manage the design, performance, scalability, and reliability of the enterprise data warehouse within a SQL Server and Microsoft Azure environment.

•  Lead the continued development and optimization of the organization’s layered data architecture.

•  Develop, review, and maintain data integration and automation processes using Python and Azure-based tools.

•  Oversee connections to source systems, including clinical, payroll, general ledger, and other business applications.

•  Establish and maintain data quality standards, including validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and issue-resolution procedures.

•  Ensure data processes comply with HIPAA requirements and company security policies, including protected health information, access controls, and credential management.

•  Partner with technical and non-technical department leaders to gather requirements, prioritize requests, translate business needs into data solutions, and manage delivery timelines.

•  Recruit, train, develop, and supervise data engineering staff as the function grows.

•  Establish and enforce standards for code quality, documentation, source control, deployment, and change management.

•  Support the continued evolution of Concerto’s data platform, including evaluation and adoption of tools and practices that improve reliability, efficiency, and scalability.

Qualifications

You Might Be a Fit If You are…

•  A hands-on technical leader who can set direction while remaining close to the work.

•  A strong problem solver with excellent attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy and reliability.

•  Comfortable building structure, standards, and processes in a growing data environment.

•  An effective communicator who can partner with both technical teams and business leaders.

•  A collaborative leader who enjoys developing people and building a high-performing data engineering function.

What’s Required?

•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

•  7+ years of experience in data engineering, database development, or a related field.

•  2+ years of supervisory, people leadership, or technical leadership experience.

•  Advanced knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL.

•  Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.

•  Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including data pipeline tools, Azure Key Vault, and Entra ID.

•  Experience with data modeling and enterprise data warehouse design.

•  Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

•  Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•  Experience working with healthcare data and knowledge of HIPAA requirements preferred.

•  Experience with Microsoft Fabric preferred.

•  Experience with source control and automated deployment practices preferred.

•  Experience migrating data systems from a third-party vendor to an in-house platform preferred.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, technical expertise, internal equity, and business needs.
