Sourcebooks, home to award-winning and bestselling children’s imprints, is looking for a Marketing Assistant to join our energetic and growing team at our headquarters in Naperville, Illinois. This is an ideal entry point for someone eager to build a career in publishing and marketing—especially if you love books, storytelling, and making a real impact.
You’ll be part of the team behind some of today’s most exciting children’s books and authors. From social media campaigns and influencer outreach to preparing for book festivals and author events, you’ll learn by doing and be at the center of it all.
This is a hands-on, in-person role, where you’ll work at least three days a week from our Naperville, IL headquarters, getting firsthand experience in how children’s books are launched and celebrated, all while being part of a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative Impact Marketing team.
This is an hourly, non-exempt position based in Naperville, IL. The starting pay for this role is $21.16/hour.  We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.  Travel may be required for key industry events and festivals throughout the year.
What You’ll Do:
  • Collaborating on marketing campaigns
  • Assisting with social media content creation, influencer mailings, and digital strategy
  • Supporting author events and promotions
  • Organizing submissions for trade reviews and online promotions
  • Creating fun, reader-friendly assets like graphics, videos, and printable activities
  • Helping the team stay organized and run smoothly

  • Strong written and visual communication skills (Canva skills a plus!)
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
