Sourcebooks is seeking a creative and passionate Marketing Designer to join our Retail Marketing & Creative Services team. This role focuses on designing engaging visual assets for our romance imprints, Bloom Books and Sourcebooks Casablanca, along with other marketing initiatives.
This position can be hybrid in Naperville, IL or New York City, or fully remote in the following states ONLY: AZ, CT, IL, LA, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, NV, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, and WI.
The salary range provided is for the position is $55,000 - $65,000 for the Chicagoland area.  We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage visual mockups, packaging, and advertising assets for our romance imprints.
  • Create unique merchandise for romance readers, such as vellum overlays, notebooks, bookmarks, tote bags, stickers, and art cards.
  • Develop digital and print marketing materials, including web design, catalogs, and tradeshow materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency with brand standards.
  • Support creative brand strategy with innovative, effective design solutions.
  • Maintain organized visual archives and ensure marketing materials are produced accurately and on schedule.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in graphic design with a focus on digital marketing assets and product/merchandise development. Previous knowledge and experience within the romance genre is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong creative vision with an eye for detail and brand consistency.
  • A love of books, design, and a growth mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills as related to interaction with colleagues, vendors, and authors
  • Experience designing for digital platforms and web interfaces is a plus.
