The Pricing Strategy and Insights Sr Analyst is responsible for applying advanced analytics, experimentation, and data-driven insights to shape the development and execution of pricing strategies at US Foods. This includes translating complex data into pricing opportunities, designing and measuring pricing actions, and partnering with field pricing teams and cross-functional leaders to inform decisions and improve commercial outcomes. The role requires strong analytical problem-solving, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to translate technical findings into clear strategic recommendations for corporate and field audiences. This role is ideal for an ambitious data scientist or strategist who wants to work at the intersection of advanced analytics and commercial strategy while driving outsized, measurable business impact.

This role will be onsite in Rosemont, IL 2 -3 days a week and remote.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Pricing analysis: Lead complex analyses and develop quantitative frameworks to identify, size, and prioritize pricing opportunities across customers, segments, categories, and regions
  • Pricing tests & measurement: Design, execute, and evaluate pricing experiments (e.g., A/B tests and quasi-experimental approaches) to estimate impact, quantify uncertainty, and recommend adjustments
  • Data management & reporting: Build and maintain scalable analytical datasets, dashboards, and reporting products to monitor pricing KPIs, automate recurring insights, and communicate decision-ready findings to stakeholders
  • Field partnership: Serve as an analytical partner to field pricing teams, translating business questions into data-driven recommendations and tools that guide pricing decisions
  • Commercial alignment: Partner with commercial leadership to connect analytical findings to strategic priorities, evaluate tradeoffs, and translate pricing actions into scalable field execution
  • Project support: Lead analytical workstreams within cross-functional projects involving pricing strategy, predictive analytics, competitive intelligence, and commercial transformation
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Revenue Management, Field Pricing, Sales, Merchandising, and Strategy, Analytics, and Data Science

  • External: Vendors, Consultants

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a minimum of 4+ years of experience in pricing, analytics, or strategic project management roles
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including experience structuring ambiguous business questions, integrating data from multiple sources, and translating results into actionable insights
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build executive-ready analyses and recommendations
  • Experience using SQL to query and transform large datasets, along with data visualization, reporting, and statistical analysis
  • Experience with Python, cloud data platforms, and advanced analytical methods such as forecasting, price elasticity, optimization, machine learning, or causal inference
  • Ability to translate complex analytical methods and findings into clear, concise recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to independently manage multiple analytical projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Occasional travel as business requires (no more than 10%)

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or related quantitative field required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior consulting, corporate strategy, or pricing analytics experience

  • Prior distribution, retail, CPG, or related industry experience

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Standard required physical activities including length of time performing each activity.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds).  The expected base rate for this role is between

$85,000 - $135,000
