Description

Title: Senior Financial Analyst - Finance Ops

Location: Dallas (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We're looking for a sharp, self-directed Senior Financial Analyst to join Finance Operations at a high-growth, newly public, energy and infrastructure company in the middle of a multi-billion-dollar capital program.

This role supports three areas: finance systems implementation (modules in Oracle Fusion and Unifier), project finance modeling, and finance process transformation. As the company deploys capital across large-scale power generation, data center, and real estate development projects, you will help put in place the systems, model inputs, and processes that track uses of funds and stand up best practices.

This role reports to the VP, Finance Operations and works closely with FP&A, Accounting, Project Controls, Procurement, Treasury, Technology/IT, and the external system installer team.

This role is for someone who treats a finance process as something to improve, not just run — curious about the business, precise under close deadlines, and able to explain the story behind the numbers to a non-finance audience.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Transformation

Support the ongoing evolution of how Finance works, across four areas:

  • Software tools: evolve how Finance uses Oracle Fusion, EPM, Unifier, and reporting tools after go-live — identify enhancements, automate manual steps, and retire offline workarounds.
  • Business processes: map current processes such as procure-to-pay, project costing, capex, and close; identify gaps and manual work; and help design future-state processes that use standard system capability.
  • Modeling: standardize model templates, drivers, and assumptions so project and capex models are consistent, easy to review, and tied to system data.
  • Shared services: help define which transactional finance activities (eg. AP, AR, procurement) move into a shared-services model, with clear roles, service levels, and handoffs.
  • Document procedures, controls, and process owners so new processes hold up after go-live.
  • Track improvement initiatives against plan and report progress to Finance Operations leadership.

Business Partnering

  • Partner with Accounting on month-end close impacts of new processes and systems.
  • Partner with Deals and Construction teams to translate operational assumptions into financial inputs.
  • Create ad hoc analysis and special projects for senior leadership under tight deadlines.

Finance Systems Implementation

  • Communicate and represent Finance on Oracle Fusion and Unifier implementation workstreams — requirements, design sessions, configuration reviews, and data conversion.
  • Recommend test scenarios and user acceptance testing (UAT), and track defects through to resolution.
  • Develop custom reports in Oracle Fusion, Unifier, and external reporting software to gather opex and capex spending insights.
  • Write job aids and help train finance users ahead of go-live.

Project Finance Modeling

  • Support elements of project finance models — cost, cash-flow, and capital-requirement inputs — with clear drivers and documented assumptions.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual capex spend and turn variances into management-level insights, in partnership with Project Controls and Accounting.
  • Support the annual budget, periodic reforecasts, and long-range financial plans by providing project and capex inputs to FP&A.
  • Support investment-committee, Board, and lender materials for major capital commitments, financings, and project phases.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of corporate finance, FP&A, accounting, or finance systems experience, including at least one ERP or EPM implementation, upgrade, or major process change.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills: builds model components with clear drivers, documented assumptions, scenarios, and error checks, without relying on a dedicated planning tool (pivot tables and lookups; Power Query a plus).
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP and/or EPM/planning system — Oracle Fusion, Hyperion/EPM, Adaptive Planning, SAP, or similar — ideally from the implementation side (design, testing, or data conversion).
  • Demonstrated adeptness using AI-based tools to manage, compile, and explain data, and to tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present clearly, verbally and in PowerPoint, to non-finance audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under close deadlines.
  • Project planning: breaks a project into scope, workstreams, milestones, and dependencies, with a clear owner and date for each deliverable.
  • Execution and tracking: tracks progress against the plan, spots slippage early, and adjusts so the project stays on schedule and on budget.
  • Risk and issue management: keeps a running log of risks, issues, and decisions, escalates early, and drives each item to closure.
  • Stakeholder communication: runs working sessions, aligns Finance, Operations, and IT, and gives leadership short, clear status updates.
  • Process mindset: documents how work gets done today, spots gaps and manual steps, and proposes practical fixes.
  • Detail-oriented: self-reviews own work before it goes out, and reviews the work of others to catch errors early; proactive, self-motivated work style.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Background

  • Hands-on Oracle Fusion and Oracle Primavera Unifier experience strongly preferred — including Fusion Projects, Payables, GL, and Supply Chain (inventory controls); Unifier cost, commitment, and cash-flow tracking; and EPM / Planning.
  • Experience in a capital-intensive business — power generation, energy, utilities, real estate, industrial, or infrastructure.
  • Experience in defense contracting, large-scale power generation, data centers, or equivalent large construction environments.
  • Exposure to project cost tracking, POs, and commitments, and to capex / CIP reporting.
  • Experience at a newly public or high-growth company; familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA progress/designation.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, or formal project management training, a plus.

Ideal Candidate

  • You are the finance person the implementation team relies on.
  • You understand how a transaction moves from purchase order to invoice to the general ledger and into a project's cost and cash-flow picture — and you can tell when a system design or process will break that flow.
  • You can pick up a piece of a project model, tie it to the operational drivers, defend the assumptions, and turn the result into a clean one-page story for an executive who has ninety seconds.
  • You present clearly, both verbally and in PowerPoint visuals that make the message obvious at a glance.
  • You are precise without being slow, calm under deadlines, and as comfortable in a design workshop as you are in a spreadsheet.

Why Join Us

  • Help shape the finance systems, models, and processes for a multi-billion-dollar capital program at a newly public company building a generational energy and infrastructure platform.
  • Serve as a key support partner to stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and IT, with direct exposure to executive leadership.
  • Develop the standard practices for business processes and systems from the ground up, rather than inheriting someone else's.
  • Grow with the finance function as the capital program scales.
