Opportunity

Modus Create is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to lead high-impact strategic consulting and full-lifecycle product development. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to modernize infrastructure and drive complex cloud-native migrations, with a specific focus on transitioning enterprise scale workloads to GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC).

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience with cloud-native platform migrations, moving workloads to modern compute, storage, and auth primitives.
  • Proven expertise in GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC) migrations, specifically using GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) and managing Enterprise Managed Users (EMU).
  • Experience building and maintaining scalable, reliable platform services.
  • Expertise in managing the full lifecycle of internal developer platforms (IDP).
  • Understanding of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native architecture principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure (preferred) and deep comfort with distributed systems, platform APIs, and cloud-native design.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and HashiCorp tooling.
  • Strong automation skills in Python, bash, or alternatively Powershell; solid understanding of modern delivery practices including AI-powered SDLC and agentic tooling.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; ability to mentor client teams and work independently with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
  • Migrate all repositories, user accounts, and access controls to a new, secure GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC) instance with Enterprise Managed Users (EMU) and Data Residency.
  • Establish a governed EMU environment with centralized Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Use GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) to migrate repositories and workflows, preserving full Git history, branch protections, and metadata.
  • Transition from individual repository permissions to scalable, team-based access synced with the identity provider.
  • Validate all integrations and dependent toolchains prior to cutover to ensure operational continuity.
  • Deliver a fully documented, governed environment in handoff.
  • Design and maintain robust infrastructure platforms that empower engineering teams to deliver software efficiently.
  • Standardize platform tooling, ensuring consistency and reliability across environments.
  • Develop and support self-service capabilities for infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows.

  • Overlap with EST business hours daily is expected

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with client IT teams and internal Modus engagement leadership
