The Senior Product Manager partners with UX, IT, vendor engineering teams, Marketing, and school field operations to turn requests from the field into sized, prioritized, and measurable product work.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the SproutAbout mobile app on iOS and Android, serving both family and school team audiences.
  2. Drive measurable improvement in teacher communication activity, monthly active users, and NPS through prioritized, hypothesis-driven product work.
  3. Define and maintain the product backlog in Azure DevOps, translating opportunities into sized, engineering-ready epics, features, and stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  4. Establish and own the product analytics and instrumentation approach for the app, and use behavioral data, customer feedback, and user research to guide roadmap decisions.
  5. Manage release planning and application health in partnership with engineering, including release cadence, feature flag and phased rollout decisions, app store submissions, and crash and performance monitoring.
  6. Lead intake, prioritization, and tradeoff discussions with stakeholders across school field operations, Marketing, IT, and UX.
  7. Own the company presence in the Apple App Store and Google Play, partnering with Marketing on store listing content, app store optimization, and ratings and review management.
  8. Communicate roadmap, release, and product performance updates to leadership and field audiences at the appropriate level of detail.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is required.
  2. 5-8 years of product management experience is required, including at least 5 years owning native mobile applications on both iOS and Android.
  3. Demonstrated experience improving engagement and retention in a mobile application is required, including push notification strategy, lifecycle or re-engagement features, and personalization.
  4. Hands-on experience with product analytics tooling such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Firebase is required, including defining event taxonomy and building funnel and cohort retention analyses.
  5. Experience with mobile release management is required, including app store review cycles, feature flags, phased rollout, and crash and performance monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 7 or more years of product management experience, with a documented record of moving mobile engagement or retention metrics, is preferred.
  2. Experience with React Native, or another framework where iOS, Android, and web share a codebase, is preferred.

  4. Experience with messaging or communication products, including platform migrations, is preferred.
  5. Experience establishing product analytics or product operations practices where none previously existed is preferred.
  6. A Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Pragmatic Institute, or comparable product certification is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to frame product work as a testable hypothesis tied to a business metric, and to make decisions from evidence rather than opinion.
  2. Working knowledge of iOS and Android platform capabilities and design standards, including Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design.
  3. Ability to balance the needs of two distinct user groups, families and school team members, and to recognize when a change benefits one at the expense of the other.
  4. Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, Figma, and Microsoft Teams, or comparable tools.
  5. Ability to influence and build consensus across UX, engineering, vendor partners, Marketing, and field operations without direct authority.
  6. Written communication that leads with the recommendation and supports it with concise context.
  7. Excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
  8. Capable of working with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  9. Effective communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal.
