As a Senior Risk Analyst at Zip, you’ll use data to directly shape how we improve repayment outcomes and evolve our collections strategy. You’ll take end-to-end ownership of high-impact analytics, turning complex data into clear insights and recommendations that improve repayment rates, optimize collection costs, and help the business identify emerging risks and opportunities. Along the way, you’ll apply SQL, Python or PySpark and AI-enabled tools to work more efficiently, challenge assumptions, and support smarter, faster decision-making.

You’ll join a highly collaborative Risk team where curiosity, critical thinking, and ownership are valued. Partnering with stakeholders across Zip and our external collections partners, you’ll have the opportunity to influence high-visibility initiatives, test and learn from new approaches, and see your analysis translate into meaningful action for both our customers and the business.

Interesting problems you’ll get to solve

  • Lead the analytics on initiatives to improve repayment rates in the short term and long term and optimize collection costs.
  • Develop insights capabilities to monitor performance and proactively identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks.
  • Identify optimization opportunities in Zip’s external debt collections strategy, monitor agency performance and work closely with the vendors. 
  • Enjoy end to end ownership of your analytics and get the chance to work in an exceptionally collaborative environment.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders across the organization to drive high visibility strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to leverage AI to improve collections decision-making, automate insights, and optimize customer and business outcomes.

What you’ll bring to the team 

  • 5+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, or Collections, with expert SQL skills and a passion for analyzing data in the Risk domain. 
    • Candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience and an advanced degree may also be considered based on the depth and relevance of their experience.
  • Proven analytics experience working as a risk/data analyst. Prior experience in the finance or lending industry preferred.
  • You are data-driven, eager to understand the numbers and provide meaningful insights. You can influence decision makers with a proactive approach to drive results and improvements across the business.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL is a must, knowledge of Python or PySpark is preferred. Experience on data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI is a plus.
  • Growth mindset and eagerness to apply AI tools to streamline workflows and improve day-to-day efficiency
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • You are self-organized with the ability to operate independently and prioritize effectively while using sound judgment and engaging senior stakeholders at key decision points.
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where competing priorities and ‘test and learn’ based iterations are the norm.

Zip is committed to a straightforward and transparent pay structure. The actual base salary will be determined by various individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, location, internal equity, as well as other objective business considerations.

The annual base Pay Range for this position is $116,000 - $140,000. This range reflects our US national compensation band (USN). Additional premium percentages may apply based on our tiered premium strategy.

Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or commission awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.

If hired, employees will be in an 'at-will position' and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
