Job Summary

This position is responsible for monitoring multiple feeds in a 24/7 environment to immediately detect, verify, and respond swiftly to cyber treats: working collaboratively with multiple teams and personnel; working with other Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts as well as subject matter experts within the larger distributed Cyber defense team including; cyber threat hunters, threat intelligence analysts and forensic investigators; working with and gaining further insight into a variety of security logs and devices ranging from operating systems to firewalls, network intrusion detection, databases, applications and more; gaining more understanding of current real world cyber threats and attack techniques and will have the opportunity to participate in simulated attacks and table top exercises.

NOTE:  This hybrid role can be located in CHICAGO IL or RICHARDSON TX ~ relocation will not be offered; sponsorship is not available.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years work experience in a relevant role, i.e.  SOC Analyst, Incident Response, Cybersecurity Threat Analyst OR 4 years related military experience
  • Experience managing SOC (Security Operation Center) activities:
    • SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems
    • IDS (Intrusion Detection systems)
    • Other Security monitoring tools
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations:
    • Stay calm under pressure, make quick decisions and maintain a relaxed environment for the team too.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills:
    • Analyze complex data and information to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Hands on experience in security operations management:
    • Its easier for SOC managers to understand the challenges their team faces daily. This experience will allow you to make informed decisions, set realistic expectations and identify areas for improvement.

    • Platform Certifications (Microsoft, Linux, Solaris, etc).
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst+ (CySA+)
    • Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Base Pay Range$50,800.00 - $112,200.00
