E-commerce fulfillment company ShipBob announced a funding raise of $40 million, which it will use to bolster its same-day and next-day delivery capabilities and improve its software platform. Additionally, the company plans to significantly boost its Midwestern machine count from just over 185 today to over 400 — spread throughout major cities in the region — by the end of 2019. On-demand parking spot provider SpotHero locked in $10 million in new funding, which it said will be used to double its platform and partnership infrastructure. This raise comes directly on the heels of the company’s partnership with Waze to provide Bluetooth connectivity to Chicago’s tunnels and a July announcement that more than 500 of its Chicago-area parking facilities are autonomous-vehicle ready. IngeniousIO, a digital platform aimed at consolidating information exchanged between companies at construction sites, raised $4 million in funding last week in a round led by American Family Ventures.
