Outcome Health raises first round at $5B valuation

Bootstrapped since 2006, Outcome Health just became one of the best-funded companies in our tech ecosystem’s history. The company, which helps patients get better by providing actionable health information at the point of care, announced on Wednesday that it has raised its first round of funding ever at a valuation of more than $5 billion pre-money. Cars.com to go public at estimated $2.2B market cap

Online automotive destination Cars.com goes public on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday. According to Crain's, the company has 1,300 employees and reported revenues of $633 million last year. A May 19 report estimates that the company's IPO will come at a $2.2 billion market cap. [Crain's]

 

Motorola vets launch video doorbell on Indiegogo

A Chicago IoT startup founded by former Motorola engineers just launched its first product on Indiegogo. The Xchime smart doorbell, which streams video to the user’s smartphone and connects directly to a smart lightbulb, is available to early-bird backers for $99. Signal’s new digs

Signal just moved into a new office in the Loop. The growing adtech company, which previously occupied Braintree’s former offices in the Gogo Building, is subleasing its new space in the Builders Building, across the river from Merchandise Mart, from Avant. Chicagoans win big at WeWork Creator Awards

Late last week, WeWork announced winners in the Midwest Regional Finals of the WeWork Creator Awards, a new pitch competition for startups, artists and nonprofits. Of the 18 winners announced in three different categories, a whopping 10 were from Chicago, taking home a total of nearly $1 million in grants combined. Zebra Sports to help top athletes stay injury free

Lincolnshire IoT company Zebra Technologies announced on Wednesday that its Zebra Sports practice system has a new integration with Kinduct. The new integration will allow NFL and NCAA teams to receive real-time athlete analytics that will help them prevent injuries and enhance player performance. Zebra Sports is currently used by the NFL to provide broadcasters with analytics on how players move around on the field. [Business Wire]

 

Hireology launches new hiring analytics tool

On Wednesday, Chicago HR software provider Hireology announced the launch of a new data-driven tool for employers. Hireology Insights will help companies understand precisely where their hiring processes break down, and compare the performance of different locations or hiring managers within the same company, as well as how their performance compares with others in the industry. At launch, the tool will primarily focus on process compliance and hiring velocity, but the company plans to launch new features this summer. [Business Wire]
