Girl Develop It Networking & Resume Workshop, August 14 at 5:30 p.m.

This event is for students and recent grads who could use a little help making an impression with potential employers. Trisha Degg, director of talent at programs for Illinois Technology Association, who has 10 years of HR and recruitment experience, will give a presentation that covers networking, social media management and scaling, resume improvement and best practices for interviews.

 

diversiTECH Hiring Fair, August 15 at 2 p.m.

AnitaB.org’s Chicago chapter is putting on a networking and hiring event, featuring on-site interviews with a number of businesses and a variety of panel discussions. Companies including Discover, BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois and Bosch will be seeking new talent. Be sure to register by 3 p.m. the day prior to ensure your spot at the function.

 

Bootstrappers Breakfast Chicago, August 16 at 8:30 a.m.

If you’re DIY-business owner at any level, go have breakfast with leaders from other early-stage tech startups. This casual meetup in the Merchandise Mart is an opportunity to chat with fellow entrepreneurs and share ideas. 

 

ProductCraft Debate Club Live!,  August 16 at 5 p.m.

Everyone loves an informative, good-natured debate. Come watch product leaders from Envoy Global, SitterCity, Sprout Social and Wonderlic discuss relevant and difficult questions concerning product management and the roles product managers can and should play in businesses. 

 

JavaScript 101 Workshop, August 18 at 10 a.m.

This event is a jumping off point for anyone thinking about becoming a developer or interested in learning how to code. Fullstack Academy is hosting this 3-hour JavaScipt workshop that will cover the basics of the coding language and will be taught by Fullstack Academy graduates now working as engineers.
