Another New Innovative App From Float Mobile Learning is Live.

Geolocation App Wayfiler To Change How To Browse Files and Websites

-

Hot on the heels of our other apps like Sandbox, RabbleBrowser, Tappestry and others, we've done it again. Wayfiler is now live. Built using lean process and executed from initial designs to 1.0 in just 3.5 weeks! A newly conceived tool for mobile learning, Wayfiler is essentially a metadata layer for files in the cloud. Tie files and websites to locations for easy retrieval by others who live, work or travel in the area.

A little more about the app from our press release:

“The possibilities are virtually limitless for how Wayfiler could be used to help you learn about the environment around you,” said Chad Udell, Float’s managing director and author of Learning Everywhere. “People or organizations could tag maps and floor plans to specific buildings, maintenance records and educational videos to a piece of equipment, or relevant tasks and checklists to a certain area of a facility. Any type of file or document you can store in the cloud can be tied to a location for easy lookup.”

Wayfiler is available for free for iOS. Using the device’s GPS to access a user’s location, you can easily share files and websites by connecting to any Dropbox account. Once a website or file is tagged, all other Wayfiler users will be able to see the file when they are nearby. Use the device’s mapping tools to get directions to the file, share it with friends, attach it to emails and more.

“Wayfiler offers a tremendous opportunity for companies that need to put the right information into the right person’s hands at the right time,” said Udell. “By taking advantage of cloud storage, Web access and the device’s geolocational capabilities, Wayfiler is a powerful tool for contextual learning.”

The app is the latest in Float’s suite of mobile learning applications, which includes Tappestry, the Float Mobile Learning Primer and the Tin Can Statement Viewer. Additionally, Sandbox and RabbleBrowser were featured in the Apple App Store’s top 10 in their respective categories.
