The process of looking for a new job can definitely be...a process. The act of discovering new opportunities, companies, and potentially new industries can be very daunting and frustrating. Also, a job search uncovers a larger question we all have to start answering about ourselves, “What do I want to do with my professional life?”

For me, during my time job searching, the question that rose above the rest was, “Where can I contribute to have an impact on not only for myself, but for the company and the world?” The answer was clear. I wanted to work with startups.

With the rise of startups in the news, whether stories of funding or failure, the attractiveness of wanting to work for a startup has gained popularity over the last few years. Startups hire differently and quickly, looking for tangible and intangible qualities in candidates who can immerse themselves in their culture and impact the business.
