Braintree grows to 300 employees, JLL helps them grow

With the help of one of our sponsors, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), Braintree, an online and mobile payments software company, is moving to the Merchandise Mart. Having started as a one-person operation in 2007, Braintree now has 300 employees and a $800 million sale to PayPal/eBay.

Following the sale, Braintree needed to significantly increase its office space. They had specific preferences including large floor plates to maintain a collaborative culture, flexibility to expand/contract, & close proximity to public transit. With JLL’s help, Braintree will expand its footprint by 60% by moving into the Merchandise Mart in October 2014. This was the most aggressive deal at the Merchandise Mart and the negotiated expansion rights are unprecedented in the current marketplace.

Congratulations to JLL and Braintree on this exciting transition. Check out JLL’s video, “The Braintree Story” for the whole story.
