Non-profits: Here's your Chance to Ask America Anything

I’m Jennifer Galamba, a Survey Scientist here at Civis.

I help a range of businesses and not-for-profit organizations uncover how their supporters and customers think, react, and behave. We find out what matters to the American public and share it with our clients—from Fortune 100 companies to not-for-profit organizations.

We’re especially proud to help our not-for-profit clients take effective action—clients like the Robin Hood Foundation and the American Red Cross.

Now, we want to share the type of research we conduct for our clients with other non-profit organizations.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re proud to announce we are accepting entries for our third annual Ask America Anything contest.

Here’s how it works: We’re giving away two questions on our weekly survey of Americans to one not-for-profit organization. We’ll also do an analysis of the results to help you understand why the results matter to your organization.

Tell us about your organization, the questions you’d like to ask, and how you’d use the results to advance your organization’s goals in 300 words or less. We’ll review how well your questions fit your mission, how likely it is the results will allow you to take action, and how clearly you express the goal of your submission. We’ll share the winner in another blog post in December 2017.

We started the Ask America Anything contest in 2015 because we believe in helping non-profits use data to advance their missions. Since then, we’ve helped the National Domestic Violence Hotlinemore effectively advocate for survivors of violence. When we worked with A Better Balance last year, we found that $1.50 per week could change the future of paid leave in America. Most Americans supported paid family and medical leave for full-time employees—a policy that became law in New York State later that year.
