What 6 Chicago tech companies are thankful for this year

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the past year and remember what we're thankful for before the new year begins. Usually, we do this with family, but many startup teams feel like families of their own. The Chicago startups we talked to were thankful for everything from their customers to their cold-brew coffee — check out all they're thankful for below:

Jenna Nichols, Public Relations

PowerReviews is thankful of our diverse workforce. We appreciate our employees backgrounds, experiences and beliefs. We draw our strength from our different experiences and our differences are a common bond that make us better. We are proud of our diversity.

Maura Moran Vaughan, Content Strategist

Over the past five years, Gesture has had the pleasure of partnering with 3,500-plus nonprofit organizations throughout the country to help them raise more for the causes they care about. We're thankful for this chance to use our fundraising technology to Make Hope Happen for our charity partners. There's nothing more fulfilling than watching an organization that makes a real difference in our world reach or exceed their goals. We're also grateful for the inspiring people we interact with every day, from our charity partners to our own team members. With dedicated staff and a chance to do good in the world, how could we feel anything but #blessed?

Chris Snyder, Vice President of Expansion

Via is thankful for the amazing community of riders and drivers we have here in Chicago! Together, we're reducing congestion and emissions in our great city. There is no group of people we'd rather share a ride with!

Andrée Beckham, Vice President of Marketing

SpringCM has been exposed to some pretty cool aspects of our customers' businesses and have worked closely with thousands of sales, legal and IT teams to help transform their organizations. We are thankful for the opportunity to help make their customers' lives better. For that, AND our genuinely interesting and diverse team — comprised of the hardest working, most brilliant, consistently resilient and undeniably passionate people in all of Chicago tech — we are truly thankful. Oh, and a far, far distant second would be the frosty keg we have in the office. Happy Thanksgiving Chicago!

Jennifer Mack, Senior Manager of Media Communications

This season, we’re thankful for new beginnings. Earlier this year we reemerged under new ownership amidst the sale from Teradata Marketing Applications to Marlin Equity Partners. This deal reestablished the legacy of Aprimo, the company who pioneered marketing operations management software. The opportunity has allowed us to revitalize our narrative as not only martech innovators, but also as long-recognized category leaders. We are back to raise the value of CMOs and their organization by leveraging our passion and expertise to innovate for a digital-first world.

Lexxie Stiefel, Company Culture Coordinator

We are all thankful for each other. Working with kind and empathetic people who are motivated to continuously get better makes pairing with another person great... and then there is cold brew. We are also thankful for unlimited cold brew.
