Caremerge raises $4M to bolster revolution of senior healthcare

Senior care coordination platform Caremerge announced $4 million in new funding, strengthening their position in the healthcare industry. The round was led by Cambia Health Solutions. Caremerge offers families a unique way to share information with care providers such as hospitals, physicians, ACOs (which provide coordinated care to Medicare patients) and managed care organizations. Baird, Pritzker back health care startup Apervita in $18M Series A

Health analytics marketplace Apervita has completed an $18 million Series A round of funding. The round was led GE Ventures and Baird Capital, with participation from Pritzker Group Venture Capital, Math Ventures and existing investors. Apervita will use the funding to continue development of its platform and grow their sales and marketing team. Etsy for music: Reverb banks $4.2M to expand online music exchange

Music exchange website Reverb.com has raised $4.2 million in new funding to continue their expansion into the music retail industry. Founder David Kalt launched Reverb in 2012, providing musicians with a new alternative to selling their gear on Craigslist or eBay. They’ll use the current funding to double their employee count over the next 18 months with hires in engineering and marketing. Rivet News Radio opens API to bring their news to more vehicles

Chicago's Rivet News Radio announced at the international CES Conference this week that it is opening its API, which would allow more car manufacturers than Jaguar Land Rover automobiles to carry their service. Rivet annouced the partnership with Jaguar three months ago. The audio-news-streaming service is attempting to make customizable audio news the digital norm. They previously raised $1.7 million from investors including The Associated Press, Whittier Ventures, and Ringleader Ventures. LyteShot Named an Honoree of the Prestigious CES Innovation Award, Announces Kickstarter

Chicago-based LyteShot received the prestigious CES 2015 Innovation Design Award this week, in addition to announcing their new Kickstarter. The technology creates multiplayer interactive gaming experiences designed to bolster creativity in the three-dimensional world, and maybe even inspire mobile gamers to get some exercise. The platform consists of a mobile app, a handheld device called the Lyter, a LytePuck receiver, and an open-source software development kit.
