10 Amazing Chicago Office Perks

As we all know, Chicago is quite a business hub, both in quantity and quality. So when deciding where to work, job-seekers have a multitude of options. Of course, they can base their decisions on salary and benefits, but what else sets certain workplaces apart?

See below for a sampling of some of our favorite Windy City company perks:

1. Dog-friendly offices. It’s no surprise that Google is canine-friendly, but so are The Onion and Label Insight.

2. Sabbaticals. After varying degrees of tenure, companies such as Morningstar, Centro, and Braintree allow employees to go on paid three- or four-week sabbaticals of their choice.

3. Free breakfast and lunch…every day. Among others, Avant provides no shortage of free delicious and nutritious meal options throughout the day.

4. Corporate chefs. It’s no surprise that Tovala has a personal chef in its office, but one who used to work at Alinea? Not too shabby. Not to be outdone, Guaranteed Rate gets in on the action, too, with chefs who’ve spent time at local favorites Revolution Brewing, Pump Room, and North Pond.

5. Unlimited candy. Catalyst Ranch proves that every day is Halloween (just don’t wear a costume every day…or…do?).

6. Birthdays off. Advertising agency AbelsonTaylor gives all employees a holiday on their birthday. Who wouldn’t love a little extra time to indulge in some cake once a year?

7. Bikes. Promoting a healthy lifestyle for its employees, GoHealth has a stable of bicycles for all to get out and explore the city daily.

8. Putting green. Both Relativity and Echo Global Logistics encourage healthy competition with installations of synthetic turf putting greens in their offices.

9. Zen room. DigitasLBI dedicates this technology-banned space to R&R, complete with coloring books.

10. PB&J hour. If it works for Stephen Curry, this classic American delicacy works for PR firm Weber Shandwick, as well.
