At the Digital Professional Institute, we're gearing up for our next class start on June 9th (Digital Marketing) and June 10th (Social Media) from 6-9pm at our Tribeca Flashpoint Academy Campus.
Currently, we have upwards of 20 students split between our 10-week Digital Marketing/Social Media courses which began at the end of March. Our students include recent college grads looking to begin their careers in Digital Marketing, a few small business owners/entrepreneurs who want to both "do it themselves" and better select and manage their agencies, and experienced professionals from traditional marketing looking to add digital marketing to their toolkits.
One of our students, who owns a local business, was emailing me about a competitor of his. As we dissected that competitor's social media strategy, we noticed that, while they had a significant Twitter following (over 80K followers) they likely spent an arm and a leg in terms of giveaways to buy an audience that wouldn't stick around over time. "Sh-t, we've got so much to learn," he said, but "your point of quality over quantity is well taken." We love these active discussions that not only drive knoweldge acquisition (ie learning) but application, which is a core element of our Brand Promise.
