It’s not your typical agency tech team at closerlook, inc.

Health data and information technology is changing the pharmaceutical industry. There’s exciting new data that reveal more about the relationships pharma companies have with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients. Increasingly, clients are looking for more help collecting, analyzing, managing and using data.

As a marketing agency serving the pharmaceutical industry, closerlook is pushing ahead, using all that new data to find more insights for clients to act on. By focusing on tracking and predictive models, using the latest tech and an innovative proprietary solution, Backstage® Relationship Marketing Techonology Suite closerlook is helping clients build better relationships with their customers.

But the agency isn’t just jumping on the bandwagon—the tech competency has been part of closerlook for quite a while. “Data-driven application development has been within these walls for 20 years now,” says Michael Tapson, Chief Technology Officer. “It’s not something we’re new to. And we’re not just tacking on a technical competency. It’s been a quarter of the company the whole time.”

closerlook’s capabilities include everything from websites to interactive sales aids and CRM campaigns to data tracking and analytics. And with a good foundation built, Nathan Henry, Interactive Technical Director, says “Now we have Web, CRM, reporting interfaces and more in Backstage®—basically, a playground that you can distribute every time you want to use it. It’s our thoughts, our business analysis, our tested and approved components—all of it’s in there. Set up and maintenance is taken care of.”

With established proprietary software, our team has freedom not often found in other tech positions. They can focus on improving and innovating, not simply restarting for each project.

Creative freedom might seem contradictory to expectations in pharma, but CRM Technical Manager Brian Mincey finds inspiration in unpredictable places. “The regulation of the industry creates a specific set of constraints that make what we do interesting. We have to get pretty creative to provide the right educational material to the right people.”

The vast amount of data, the need for innovation and the regulatory environment all contribute to the strong collaborative environment in the tech team. Each team member brings their own solutions to pharma’s challenges. “It’s not ‘this is how you program.’ It’s a lot more community-based. You are an individual within a group of programmers,” according to Henry. “The other challenge is that you have continuously up your game because everyone around you is so great at what they do.”

And the tech team is looking to continue closerlook’s rich history of innovation. See what positions are open at closerlook.
