The job: Senior Software Engineer

What they do: ShopRunner is a subscription service that grants members free two-day shipping and promotions across a network of more than 140 retailers.

What you’ll do: Design and build software capable of handling millions of users. You’ll work closely with ShopRunner’s merchant partners and its internal data science team to evolve the company’s data pipeline and improve experience customization. You’ll also help ShopRunner shape its future technology roadmap.

What you’ll need: Six years of experience writing scalable production code for web is a must, as is expertise in an object-oriented programming language. ShopRunner loves polyglots, but you’ll need to be proficient in Python and have experience with frameworks like Spring, Django, Bottle or Flask.

The job: Senior Software Engineer

What they do: Headquartered in Chicago, bswift makes technology that streamlines the process of offering employee benefits.

What you’ll do: Develop and implement new technologies to enhance bswift’s core platform. That includes keeping a close eye on evolving market needs, as well as supporting other developers as they grow in their careers.

What you’ll need: You’ll need at least five years of software development experience, with a particular focus on ASP.NET, SQL Server and C#. You’ll also need experience with JavaScript and jQuery. Previous experience with Angular, Team Foundation Server and Agile methodologies won’t hurt, either.

The job: Senior Software Engineer

What they do: Enova is an online lender that uses machine learning to make credit decisions for consumers who don’t qualify for traditional loans. The company also provides analytics software for a range of industries.

What you’ll do: Work as a part of a small full-stack team to develop the next generation of Enova’s tech products. What that entails, exactly, depends on the team you’re assigned to after joining the company.

What you’ll need: Enova primarily works in Ruby on Rails, Go, Java and Swift, but its engineering team hires developers from across technical backgrounds. What you do need is passion for learning, coding and leveraging open source technologies. You’ll also need to be comfortable juggling multiple projects at once.

What they do: GoHealth makes digital health insurance marketplace technology that helps consumers find the right coverage for their specific needs.

What you’ll do: You’ll be the go-to person for top tech priorities, including new product builds and working with enterprise customers. You’ll also be responsible for discovering and implementing new processes and technologies, as well as for seeing the big picture connections between low-level tech requirements and overarching business goals.

What you’ll need: At least 10 years of software engineering experience, and proven chops in navigating the interplay between engineering teams and the business side. You’ll also need previous senior leadership experience as a CTO or top technical team member of a small company. And your technical background has to be well-rounded, with full-stack experience using Java and JavaScript.

The job: Senior Developer – Security

What they do: SAP Fieldglass makes software used by organizations in more than 140 countries to procure services and manage external talent.

What you’ll do: Research and evaluate security threats and vulnerabilities, as well as the best ways to address them. (That includes using attack tools for testing.) You’ll also be responsible for designing and delivering modules and components for the company’s Java platform, and maintaining and supporting product features.

What you’ll need: For this job, you’ll need prior experience with security, and five years of overall software development experience. You’ll need to be familiar with cutting-edge standards in authentication, cryptography, vulnerabilities and remediation. Finally, you’ll need experience developing in Java or JavaScript.
