We’re building NewAppetite to help showcase up-and-coming artists and tracks alongside the trendsetting fans who find them first. And we don’t think recommendation algorithms can do that. We prefer humans to robots. There’s an insane amount of unknown, unsigned talent online getting lost in the social fray. We definitely don’t do Billboard, or even anything over 65,000 plays. For the first time ever, fans hold more sway over music culture than the industry. We want you to get messy in all of it. This is digital crate digging.

But it doesn't have to be this way.

Enter Switches+Strings. It's your chance to be a music scout. Jamernot uses geolocation of music and fan proximity to make the experience local. The content is streamed from the artist's SoundCloud page. Each piece of music is judged by the user with a like or a dislike with the swipe to the right or left respectively. User's “Likes” are stored forever on the Jamernot music player called the JamerBox. On the JamerBox, fans organize their library, create playlist, and plug-in socially. Algorithms analyze the trends of the network creating a dynamic experience. Jamernot rewards users the more music they judge and the they plug liked tracks socially by increasing their clout on the network. Jamernot has a patent pending process to deliver geolocated content to geolocated users to create geolocated trends.

NewAppetite.com is a way to buck mainstream music trends. We are an interactive music promotion and discovery collective where users get rewarded for promoting independent music and artists they think deserve attention. You can add your favorite independent songs to the site--nothing too popular, or our filters will catch it--or just browse our user-populated music charts. If you see something you like, you can earn points by sharing it to your favorite social platform. Earn even more points by following or liking any featured artist’s social accounts--all without leaving the page. All those points can be spent in our store which features digital content from the artist’s featured in our charts or even social perks like a Google Hangout with the artists themselves. But we’re more than free stuff. You can also make your own playlists and share them with your friends; all commercial-free.
