Advises Capital One’s premium credit card business on legal risks, product development, customer experiences, marketing strategies, and regulatory requirements. Partners with business, legal, compliance, risk, brand, and communications teams to develop creative solutions and responsibly advance initiatives. Requires strong legal and business judgment, communication, organization, and collaboration skills, with expertise in consumer financial regulations, marketing and advertising law, or risk management preferred.

Lead procurement contract lifecycle: assess transactions, draft and negotiate agreements, manage multiple contracts to completion, advise stakeholders on risk mitigation and contracting strategy, and collaborate with legal, compliance, and business teams.

Provides legal counsel to retail bank branches, cafes, and customer complaints operations. Advises on branch servicing, complaint responses, disputes, compliance and operational errors, regulatory and litigation trends, and standardized compensation responses. Partners with compliance and business teams to investigate complaints, translate legal requirements into business guidance, and identify strategic insights across customer trends and regulatory developments.

Advise retail banking Savings and Marketing teams on products, marketing strategy, legal risks, policies, customer communications, litigation, compliance, and third-party relationships. Partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and business stakeholders; coordinate outside counsel; assess complex regulatory issues; and provide strategic business counsel while managing multiple priorities.

Manage enterprise procurement contracting processes, controls, systems, templates, playbooks, and training materials. Partner with legal, business stakeholders, and supplier management teams to maintain contracting standards, improve efficiency, manage risk, and implement policy, system, and template changes through effective change management. Lead contract drafting, evaluation, negotiation, execution, and process improvement across a fast-paced procurement function.

Provide legal counsel to the Premium Products & Experiences team for Capital One Travel. Advise on travel industry, consumer financial and marketing legal risks; review and negotiate third-party contracts; translate legal requirements for business teams; collaborate cross-functionally with Brand, Compliance, Business Risk, Corporate Communications, and Card teams to develop solutions and enable product initiatives.

Provide compliance risk management and advisory for Personal Loans and New-to-Credit credit card segments. Partner with business leaders through product lifecycle, assess controls, review testing, evaluate audit/regulatory issues, conduct UDAAP validations, support compliance program development and third-party compliance, analyze compliance data, and participate in governance and reporting. Travel to Capital One locations as needed.

Provide strategic legal advice on network participant risk for global payment relationships (issuers, acquirers, alliances). Translate laws and regulations into actionable guidance, develop participant-facing rules and commercial terms, advise product rollouts and processes, manage external counsel, and present risks to senior leaders, regulators, and policymakers.

Advise business on regulatory risk from models and scripts, assess script logic for regulatory alignment (CoDIR), collaborate with tech, data, and business partners, conduct targeted reviews/validations, respond to audit and regulator inquiries, and analyze compliance data to identify emerging risks.

Provide legal counsel to the credit card marketing team; develop and optimize marketing review tools and processes (including enabling generative AI use); assess legal and business risks for products, features, and promotions; collaborate across business and legal teams to ensure compliant, efficient marketing collateral creation and review.
