Summer 2027 electrical engineering internship supporting the analysis, design, documentation, coordination, and implementation oversight of electrical systems for vertical building projects. Responsibilities include equipment research, client and consultant coordination, design reviews, addenda preparation, project documentation, final-check preparation, and periodic job site observations across education, government, and healthcare projects.

Supports the design, analysis, documentation, quality control, and implementation oversight of building electrical systems. Collaborates with clients, engineers, architects, and project managers on planning, scheduling, multidisciplinary coordination, and project execution. Uses engineering and building design software to develop technical plans, specifications, calculations, lighting and energy analyses, and BIM documentation. Participates in research, innovation, safety mitigation, and quality processes while developing consulting and technical expertise through mentorship and training.

Designs and analyzes low-voltage building technology systems, including structured cabling, audio/video, security, and wireless systems. Supports project planning, scheduling, documentation, budgeting, quality control, client communication, and multidisciplinary coordination. The role involves using engineering and BIM tools, collaborating with senior engineers, researching emerging technologies, and supporting consulting project execution. Full-time office work is based in Naperville or Chicago, with travel of up to 50%.
