Supports electrical design, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and procurement activities for data center development projects. Reviews drawings, equipment submittals, code compliance, design standards, and electrical studies. Collaborates with designers, contractors, vendors, commissioning agents, facilities, and operations teams to resolve technical issues, answer RFIs, evaluate value engineering, and support multiple projects. Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience and approximately 10% travel.

Provides electrical engineering subject-matter expertise for large-scale data center development projects. Reviews design packages, codes, standards, equipment submittals, and electrical studies; collaborates with designers, contractors, procurement, commissioning, and operations teams; resolves design and construction issues; and supports project scope, value engineering, equipment procurement, and commissioning. Requires 25% travel and expertise in power systems, NEC compliance, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis.

Leads QTS’s centralized development schedule management function across its construction portfolio. Oversees production tracking, schedule risk management, KPI standardization, reporting dashboards, and performance-review routines. Builds and manages a team of schedule specialists and analysts, partners with regional development leaders, intervenes in at-risk projects, and coordinates with procurement, quality, engineering, design, and finance to integrate schedule requirements into project delivery and reporting.

Primary technical resource for hyperscale sales: design complex colocation/hosting solutions, present demos and proposals, answer technical and business questions, respond to RFPs, and coordinate requirements with operations to deliver contractual and service documentation.

Manage and grow strategic enterprise and hyperscale accounts to meet revenue targets. Develop account plans, respond to RFIs/RFPs, create customized proposals, lead presentations and data center tours, maintain CRM and sales funnel, and negotiate at the C-level to close new and renewal business.

Lead and manage electrical engineering for mission‑critical data center development across multiple projects and regions. Oversee design, standards, procurement, vendor coordination, risk resolution, and cross‑functional collaboration. Provide technical direction, mentor staff, support due diligence and master planning, present updates to executives, and drive scalable, compliant electrical solutions aligned with business objectives.

As the Principal DCIM Design Engineer, you will lead design standards for data center infrastructure, manage teams, develop control systems, and ensure scalable solutions are in place for QTS's global infrastructure.

The DCIM Design Engineer leads the implementation of various control systems, manages contractors, ensures quality assurance, and oversees project deliverables, driving standardization and risk mitigation throughout data center construction projects.
