The Intermediate Accountant supports month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, cash management, benefits reconciliation, and audit requests. The role collaborates across departments to consolidate financial results, resolve discrepancies, and meet reporting deadlines. It requires strong organization, attention to detail, communication skills, accounting knowledge, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently under pressure.

Execute Model Audit Rule testing of internal controls over financial reporting, assess control design and effectiveness, document deficiencies, monitor remediation, maintain risk and control documentation, and collaborate with Finance, Operations, IT, Compliance, and business stakeholders. Support risk assessments, MAR scoping, internal audit initiatives, advisory engagements, and regulatory compliance activities within the insurance industry.

Performs accounting activities supporting life insurance and annuity operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, quarterly and annual reporting, audit support, and internal control compliance. The role also contributes to system implementations, process improvements, automation initiatives, and special projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues.

Serve as the Finance/Actuarial Technical Product Owner to translate business strategy into prioritized roadmaps and actionable backlogs. Lead stakeholder engagement, define requirements, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and guide Agile teams to deliver cloud-based, data-driven finance and actuarial solutions leveraging Azure and DevOps practices.

Support accounting, reporting, and analysis for Kuvare holding companies. Lead quarterly and annual close, standardize financial and operational reporting, compile KPIs, provide financial analysis, assist with budgeting/forecasting, respond to investor and management reporting requests, and support capital raise and special projects.

Prepare and review reinsurance accounting transactions, journal entries, reconciliations, settlement statements, and regulatory schedules. Support claims and actuarial accruals, data queries, management reporting, client inquiries, audits, and maintain internal controls.

Support capital raising, M&A, and strategic initiatives by building financial models (DCF, comps, precedents), conducting due diligence and market analysis, preparing executive/board presentations, coordinating external advisors, and supporting post-transaction integration and strategic planning.
