The Controller provides outsourced accounting and advisory services to technology-industry clients. Responsibilities include developing internal controls, coordinating budgeting and procurement, preparing financial statements and forecasts, monitoring KPIs, evaluating funding and investment needs, supervising accounting staff, advising management, and communicating with boards, bankers, and investors. The role requires frequent local travel to client sites and occasional overnight travel.

Advise clients on federal tax accounting methods, including income and expense recognition, inventory, capitalization, cost recovery, and accounting periods. Research complex tax issues, prepare calculations, analyses, Form 3115 filings, technical memoranda, IRS responses, and ruling requests. Manage multiple client projects, collaborate with firm leaders, and mentor staff while delivering accurate, timely solutions.

Lead transaction tax engagements including tax due diligence, structuring, modeling, and report writing for acquisitions and dispositions. Manage client relationships, mentor team members, coordinate with specialty tax groups, and oversee engagement budgets, timelines, and deliverables.

Plan, lead, and execute nonprofit assurance engagements. Perform audit procedures, prepare financial statements and disclosures, assess internal controls, delegate and train team members, collaborate with managers, and develop and maintain client relationships.

Serve as Controller within CLAs CAAS practice supporting logistics clients: develop internal controls, lead financial planning and reporting, prepare statements and forecasts, monitor KPIs, manage accounting staff, advise management, and communicate with boards and stakeholders.

Serve as a hands-on interim or project-based accounting leader for large clients (Interim Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, Internal Audit Manager). Design and improve accounting processes, execute engagements, manage client relationships, and optionally travel.
