Design, develop, test, and integrate embedded software and firmware for defense systems. Work across the full software development lifecycle using C++ and scripting, collaborate with customers and teams, and apply software architecture and embedded OS concepts. Role is full-time, on-site in Rolling Meadows, IL, and requires obtaining a Secret clearance.

Lead subcontract specialist responsible for negotiating and documenting subcontract agreements, managing supplier performance, assessing risk and compliance, and overseeing procurement lifecycle for defense programs. Collaborates with legal, programs, contracts, supply chain, and engineering to support captures, proposals, and program execution while ensuring FAR/DFARS compliance and stakeholder governance.

Design and develop switch-mode power conversion architectures and subsystems for RF/EO, DSP, and embedded platforms. Perform schematic capture, SPICE simulation, prototyping, lab verification, EMI/EMC and MIL-STD qualification, PCB layout collaboration, and lifecycle documentation. Lead small teams and support integration, test, and configuration management.

Lead and execute overall systems engineering for EOIR/RFEW defense programs. Ensure engineering process integrity, direct technical teams, decompose requirements, manage integration and verification, create system models and traceability, present technical status to leadership, and maintain required security clearance and on‑site presence.

Manage front-line software engineering teams for mission systems, driving technical, cost, and schedule performance; recruit and develop staff; oversee staffing projections, metrics, Agile embedded software development, mentoring, and performance management. Provide PCB producibility and design-for-manufacturing expertise across RF, digital, mixed-signal, and power boards. Define stack-ups, impedance, and DFM/DFF rules; run automated DFM tools; generate fabrication data; support suppliers and internal teams; troubleshoot manufacturing issues; and collaborate on sourcing and supplier readiness.

Lead teams that design, develop, deploy, and sustain automated manufacturing test software and systems for IRCM/RFCM products. Oversee architecture, test integration with fixtures/instrumentation, troubleshooting, proposal support, continuous improvement, and cross-functional coordination in a production environment.

Develop, integrate, test and analyze complex mission and system models in virtual environments. Create simulation code and scripts, document assumptions, automate tests, execute integration test activities, and perform system-of-systems and agent-based operational analysis. Apply knowledge of EOIR, optics, RF, detection and tracking.
